A class action lawsuit was filed against the Iowa Board of Regents ("BOR") in August 2019 that alleged that the BOR violated the Iowa Wage Payment and Collection Law (“IWPCL”), Iowa Code Chapter 91A, and amended in October 2019 to allege further IWPCL violation as well as violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C. § 207 (“FLSA”), by failing to pay adjustments (such as for overtime and shift differentials) in a timely manner and failing to pay employees all of their earned wages in a timely manner after they were terminated. The lawsuit is called Myers, et al. v. Iowa Board of Regents, and it is pending in the United States District Court for Southern District of Iowa, Civil Action Number 3:19-cv-00081-SMR-SBJ.
